Handy Gear checklist.

Gear checklist

The following list can be used as a guideline to make sure you remember to take everything you need when on our climbing trips. What is listed below is pretty much the **minimum** you will need for the different activities. Obviously items can be borrowed or in some cases (i.e. Indoor climbing) hired, however I would recommend that anyone wanting to climb invest in the required kit for themselves.

N.B. climbing in mountainous regions requires specialist knowledge, skill and equipment to even get to the climb. The list below simply covers the climbing, nothing else.

Indoor climbing

  • Everything for Indoor climbing
  • Helmet
  • 1 short sling
  • Extra screwlock karabiner.
  • Any guidebooks you have for the region
  • Optional – Quick draws (at least 10)
  • Optional – Rope (at least 60m, 70m is even better)
  • Optional – 2 extra screwgate karabiners
  • Optional – Small first aid kit. (Only optional if you KNOW someone else has one!)

Outdoor general

  • Warm clothes. It is nearly always colder than you think it will be.
  • Waterproof jacket.

  • Sun cream J
  • Shorts / T-shirts (depending on time of year)

Staying in a refuge (Belgium or Switzerland)
